Hello,
I am not able to login to my account with a username in the form "Firstname Lastname". However I am able to login to a test account I have created (username "test"). Could this be a bug? Thanks.

Or it could be that the first account does not have a password set. Are empty passwords supported by the server? Thanks.

User names with spaces should work fine.

If you are running KTS in SSH mode - no, you can't login with empty password.
If running in telnet mode - yes, empty passwords are accepted.
