SFTP Transfer "Stalled"
Forrest SFTP Transfer "Stalled"
I have installed the unregistered version on a Win2003 server for use as a SSH/SFTP Server. When I use Putty's PSFTP client, I can connect, get a directory listing, and even upload files without any problem.

However, PSFTP is just for testing. When we use the "real" production environment client, it authenticates just fine, but gets the response "stalled" when trying to upload a file. It then times out, even though the file being transferred is very small (around 60k). The production environment client is a UNIX box running AIX 6.1.

Could this be a problem with the server being the unregistered version? I'm happy to register, but I was trying to make sure the server would work for us before doing so. Or is there a specific setting I need to configure for the UNIX client?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

No, the registered/unregistered versions work the same with the only difference that the unregistered version displaying the nag screen upon login.

It looks like just being some incompability in the KTS and your clients sftp implementations.
KTS should work fine with putty-psftp, Filezilla, and probably few other telnet clients.
It might or might not work with other clients as in your case.

I'm planning to take a look at the KTS sftp compatability in the next release, but currently I can't tell when I will have enough free time for this.

As of 29 Jan 2011, and from Ubuntu Linux 10.04.1 as the client, the sftp "stalled transfer" problem still exists with OpenSSH:

$ ssh -V
OpenSSH_5.3p1 Debian-3ubuntu4, OpenSSL 0.9.8k 25 Mar 2009

Nautilus fails to connect with a "timeout at login" message:

$ nautilus --version
GNOME nautilus 2.30.1

But FileZilla works:

$ filezilla -v
FileZilla 3.3.1, compiled on 2010-10-05
